Ephesus Day Tour Itinerary

You will be picked up from your Istanbul hotel in the early morning and transferred to the airport for the flight to Izmir. Travel by air-conditioned coach to the ancient city of Ephesus, beginning your tour at the Magnesia Gate. Slowly walk downhill as you follow your specialist guide through the ruins of this former Roman city, exploring the Odem, the Celsius Library, the Fountain of Trajan, the Temple of Hadrian and the Great Theatre. The Great Theater had a capacity for 25,000 people and was where St. Paul preached to the citizens of the city.

Your Ephesus tour will also visit the House of the Virgin Mary, a little house in the Solmissos Mountains which is renowned as her final known residence, as well as the Temple of Artemis – one the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.
